Coffee from the winding old river
Simao arabica bearing the
("Man") symbol comes exclusively from the ManLao River plantation in the Pu'er region of Southwest China, home of the Pu'er tea. ManLao means the "winding old river". Natural mountain spring water flows through this river, down the winding mountainsides of the ManLao river plantation. Coffee here is pristinely grown, hand-picked, then washed in the natural spring water and sun-dried on one of the largest natural drying grounds in the world. Located more than 40 mi from the nearest town, and more than 200 mi from any industry, the plantation uses all organic, sustainable farming practices. Only natural fertilizers are used and no pesticides.

Fair Trade
The ManLao river plantation is a unique fair-trade cooperative. Plantation farmers live on allotted lands on the plantation, and receive free organic farming training from the plantation. Each farming region has a school and even church. Farmers practice free religion ranging from Catholicism to Buddhism.
